I had to get on here and give a great big THANK YOU to all who have donated to the nanny fund. It's been humbling to see people gather around us and help us where we need help. I am grateful to you. Thanks to those who have called, texted, sent cards, flowers, packages, gift cards, emails, offered time etc. Steve and I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, care and concern on our behalf.<br /><br />Monday morning at 8 I will start chemo. Then again Tuesday. Then again the following Monday. Then a break until day 21 when we start it all up again. I'm nervous but have moved into a hopeful attitude. Hopeful that God is going to rid my body of cancer once and for all. Hopeful that He is taking care of us in the midst. Hopeful that He is up to something GREAT, even if the circumstances are not.<br /><br />Thanks for being on this journey with us. If you need help navigating anything on this website, please leave a comment and Susie will get back with you and help you out.<br /><br />Once again, THANK YOU.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16531626531762629100noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-475978840795417300.post-68466202909354391032011-02-17T05:19:00.000-08:002011-02-17T05:19:17.953-08:00Thank You!It's Susie again. I just wanted to say thank you to all who have given so generously to the Koproski family through this site, personal gifts, and through yesterday's gimmE five campaign, launched by the following ladies:<br />
<br />
<div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Emily Berry & Jenny Rapson, <a href="http://momminitup.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">Mommin' It Up</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Susie Thomas, <a href="http://susiehereonly.blogspot.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">Here Only</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Andrea Deckard, <a href="http://savingslifestyle.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">Savings Lifestyle</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Cortney Loyd, <a href="http://evanhaslanded.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">Evan Has Landed</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Becky Dell, <a href="http://randombecky.wordpress.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">Random Becky</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Maria Woodall,<a href="http://thebmcreport.blogspot.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank"> the BMC Report</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Tricia Callahan, <a href="http://onceamonthmom.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">Once a Month Mom</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Celia Emmons, <a href="http://westanawillgo.com/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">WestAnaWillGo</a></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />
</div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">As most of you know, E's surgery to get her ports is today and chemo starts Monday. Please keep praying! <b>For anyone who has wanted to offer help and can't figure out the calendar (yes, it is annoying), feel free to leave comments here and I will try to organize them into a helpful list for Steve & E. </b></div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />
</div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">This is where the going gets rough(er). Speaking with E yesterday, I learned that the "effects" of chemo are cumulative, so it might start out not-so-bad, but following cycles will probably get worse. So.... keep praying. And Olivia's birthday is Saturday, so let's pray for a really sweet day for the Koproskis, and especially for Olivia. </div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />
</div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Thanks, friends.</div><div style="border-collapse: collapse; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />

In response to E's great idea to get some childcare help as she enters into this unpredictable (but probably not fun) chemo phase, we've added a donation button over to the right. Anyone interested can contribute any amount to a fund that will go directly to Steve & E.<br />
<br />
Thanks, you guys are the best!Susiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09063029032695060303noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-475978840795417300.post-66010900832477560562011-02-05T15:26:00.001-08:002011-02-05T15:29:01.327-08:00A thought to bounce off of youhey guys, it's e. I'm busting on here. Here's something a friend brought up to me and Steve and I need to pray about this.. but I think it's worth considering.<br /><br />We might look into getting a nanny from 9-4 Mon-Fri. So that I don't have to run around and do stuff like get milk etc. She could pick O up from school, put the kids down for naps, get lunch etc. <br /><br />I don't know if people who want to help would want to pitch in to help us pay for one. <br /><br />Also, I would love a reference of a young, fun, Christian girl who could help. I would feel more free to really use her if I knew she was getting paid. <br /><br />Feedback welcome. Am I crazy? Is it feasible? Do you know anyone?<br /><br />thanks,<br />eAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16531626531762629100noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-475978840795417300.post-59998672423172717322011-01-26T12:20:00.000-08:002011-01-27T19:17:42.103-08:00Welcome E's Friends & Family!<div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">This is a site for friends and family of Elizabeth to find how they could best help the Koproskis during E's recovery from surgery and the following months of chemo. We all want to know what we can do and hopefully this can help. A few tips for getting around and using the site:</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">1) Use the Calendar on the right to sign up for times that you're available for Steve and E to call when they need help. You can "sign up" on days and times that you think you'd be available. None of us can know for sure our exact schedules weeks in advance, so multiple people can sign up for the same time frame - it gives them a list of people to start with when a need arises. Feel free to note what you're available to do - child care, snow/yard work, groceries/errands, doggy-sitting, cleaning. You'll add an event, put your name in "what", your phone number in "where" and add any notes or specifics in "description." Uncheck "all day" to make times specific. (To add to the calendar, email your email address to monikerart at gmail dot com and I'll "invite" you to be able to make changes.)</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">*Note: "signing up" does not commit you to anything, it just gives Steve & E an idea of who they can call when/if they need help.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">2) Let's keep providing meals for the Koproskis. There is a meal calendar set up <a href="http://mealbaby.com/registry/?action=display&registry_id=14597">here</a>. More dates will be added as we figure out E's treatment schedule and what she'll need.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">3) A lot of you have asked about food gift cards, which is a great idea. Some ideas are: <a href="http://www.milanossubs.com/gift_certificates.html">Milano's</a>, <a href="http://www.papajohns.com/papacard/">Papa John's</a>, <a href="http://deweyspizza.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1&zenid=3vqjrrpq64vleu99osskid2fm4">Dewey's Pizza</a>, <a href="http://www.chick-fil-a.com/?#cardsandgiftcertificates">Chick-fil-a</a>, <a href="http://www.smashburger.com/savory_gifts.php">SmashBurger</a>, <a href="https://www.mimiscafe.com/GiftCards.aspx">Mimi's Cafe</a>, <a href="http://www.thai9restaurant.com/Main.html">Thai 9 (</a>not so great for the kids, but for a much-needed date night). E does her shopping at <a href="http://www.kroger.com/gift_center/gc/Pages/default.aspx">Kroger</a> and <a href="http://www.shopdlm.com/viewcategory.pl?id=17">Dorothy Lane Market.</a><br />
<br />
4) One other note on food. E's interested in exploring nutrition as one way to fight cancer. What she's learned initially points to the benefits of a healthy, natural, no/low-meat diet. If any of you love to cook vegan food (or something healthy and natural and would be interested in sharing recipes with E or, better yet, preparing meals ahead of time that can be frozen (esp individual sized portions), that would be a great idea!<br />
<br />
5) If a specific need arises that Steve & E are looking for help with, it'll be posted here - so feel free to subscribe or follow this blog to keep track of that. Other than that, this won't really be an "update" place, as E already does a great job of that with her own blog! We'll try to keep a running list of prayer requests over to the right.<br />
<br />
6) To keep the crazies away (no, not you, the other crazies), E's address and phone number will not be posted here. If you need it to bring a meal or help out or whatever, just email me at monikerart (at) gmail (dot) com.<br />
<br />
If you would like to send mail (cards, gift cards, notes, whatever) to Steve & E and don't have their home address, you can send it to the following address, attn. Susie Thomas<br />
